Millenium CountDown to 2001
(The REAL New Millenium!)

This is the 25th year since our graduation! I really enjoyed the 10th, 15th and 20th year reunions! WELL! Just because I seemed to remember a few things from our past I was dragged KICKING AND SCREAMING!!! to "Head up" this effort. Oh well, It's gonna be a lot of fun! Maybe we can stay out of the pool this time! (maybe we can't)

Well.....Reunion73 was a huge success as far as the "Fun Factor". However, the people that were unable to come were sorely missed. The ONES that just decided to snub us are more than welcome to attend the Thirty-year Reunion73 and will be fully exonerated by all! But that didn't dampen our spirits one bit on June 26 and June 27, 1998! WE ALL (almost) GOT IN THE POOL AND HAD A GREAT TIME! (By the way....we are operating in the red for this one thanks to all the no-shows!)

If you would like to order a Memory Book of the weekend events, you should have received an order form from Dunning Company, if not Email me and I'll get you the information.

We'll be having plenty of meetings to plan The Memory Book. Due to the set backs incured after Huricane Georges', we've been delayed in the prodution and layout. (Actually I've just been dragging my feet) (Not really) We've met three times to plan this monster. I'll be sending a draft to Mobile soon. Anybody that can help will be highly appreciated.

Greyhound

Sounds like there are a lot of willing participants in the planning of this reunion. They will all be a great help! (They did a great job on the other three outings!)

 Past Meetings

  • The first meeting was held at HUGO'S at 7:00pm on Thursday January 22, 1998! Six of us showed up for the meeting. We ate pizza and discussed the plans for this great under taking. We decided on a date of June 26-27,1998. It might be held at Treasure Oaks, The Coliseum, The Grand Casino, or the Civic Center in O.S. These are to be determined by cost, availability, and ambiance. We will call around for a band and will have to decide WHAT we will do.

Friday night will be a mill-about-on-your-own thing at a designated location. Possibly a bonfire!

Saturday morning-afternoon will be a family time or an outdoor get together at The former Magnolia State Park. (I can't ever remember National Seashore.... whatever, why'd the Feds have to rename it when they took it?)

We had a great time talking and reminiscing and reminding each other how goofy we all could be! We have such a great class!

****The second meeting was much more productive. We booked Treasure Oaks for June 26 and 27.

Friday (June 26, 1998) will be a luau, so be sure to wear your best Hawaiian shirt! Looks good for the POOL! We will roast a Pig with the trimmings and have a D.J. for music.

Saturday (June 27,1998) will be a casual evening with finger food (Heavy Hor d'vours) and a band (David Dudley!).

We will have a "SILVER" theme. With blue and silver decorations. This is going to be the best Reunion ever! I'll be sending out letters to everyone as soon as we get all the addresses and get them stuffed in the envelopes and shoved in the mailbox for delivery. So watch your box!

The next Meeting is Wednesday, February 11, 1998 at Blossman's Meeting/Training Room, thanks to Cheryl Germany.

Any Ocean Springs 1973 Graduate can come and help plan this thing!

The third meeting was held at Blossman in their conference room (Thanks to Cheryl Germany!). We looked over the brochure we will send to everybody for Reunion73. It was approved and some SPELLING corrections that I missed had to be made. I'll redo it and get it to Cheryl so she can have them printed. (Thanks again Cheryl!)

Now if we can only get THE BOX from Debbie! ......Tappa Tappaty Tap.......That's my fingers tapping on the table! The next Meeting is Monday, February 16, 1998 at Blossman's Meeting/Training Room, thanks again to Cheryl Germany.

Any Ocean Springs 1973 Graduate can come and help plan this thing!

Meeting Number 4 was held once again at Blossman in their Training Room (Thanks to Cheryl Germany!). We folded brochures and handwrote the addresses that we had available. Cheryl had more than enough printed for us and we are really grateful for that!

Now if we can only get THE BOX from Debbie! ......Tappa Tappaty Tap.......That's my fingers tapping on the table!....WAIT! Here's Sheree! She has THE BOX! She actually had it delivered to her house by Debbie!! Now we can address the brouchers, we can be somebody!

Vanna brought snacks tonight and we appreciate that! Yum yum....It ain't a BIG DARE, but then what is? (A Big Dare is a Pizza from Hugo's)

The next Meeting is Monday, March 2, 1998 at Blossman's Meeting/Training Room.

Any Ocean Springs 1973 Graduate can come and help plan this thing!

Meeting Number 5 was held once again at Blossman. This time we were looking for "lost souls"....all those Brochures that came back "RETURN TO SENDER". Ralph Edwards showed up and helped out with our quest to locate those who moved. We called Don "Doogy" Schaeffer and he came to the meeting. It was great to see him after all these years! He just moved back to O.S. after being in Louisiana (and other places) for years. He said he was ready to get back here to Ocean Springs after being gone so long. We found a lot of the addresses and resent the Brochures. About 35 of the Brochures came back, but now we have about 17 or 18 left to locate (a few came in after the meeting). We meet again on the 19th of March and plan to have another Great meeting! By the way Mike B., No body but me even remembered your sorry butt!!! Maybe 99% of the class didn't like you either!!!

  • The next meeting will be onboard the SU Fast Eddie (I can't remember the name of his boat, I'm embarrassed), Thursday May 21, 1998......(David Lee..Ya shoulda come to the meetin's!) Anyway, we're in gear for the big event. Everyone should receive a form from The Dunning Memory Book Company to get your copy of the REUNION73 Memory Book. You can get it even if you can't make the show. Or if you're like Mike Bridwell....Yes, you can get one even if you don't like 99% of the class!

  • By the way Mike, Nobody but me even remembered your sorry butt!!! Maybe 99% of the class didn't like you either!!!
